At It Again

It’s been a little over a year since Dr. Robert Franklin “The Doc” and SCO fishing guide turned friend and companion Pete Wood shared their brown drake experience with us on film.

Life has taken the two of them many places since then. Doc has been to the Mississippi Delta after red fish, dove hunting in Argentina, Dartmouth for a grand daughters graduation, and recently underwent experimental neurosurgery to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s. As Doc puts it, he is just trying to “get on with my life” while working to be an inspiration to others who battle the debilitating effects of Parkinson’s.

Pete is still guiding full time during the summer, however he is entering law school this fall and is determined to devote his life and professional career to protecting wild places and the critters that belong there.

Well The Doc and Pete are at it again, hitting the Sun Valley area waters together two days a week throughout the summer. Doc is enjoying the results of the surgical procedure that has greatly eased the symptoms of Parkinson’s, and together as a team they are catching & releasing more great fish than ever.

The Doc and Pete make a great team, finding ways to catch fish no matter the challenge.

For those who enjoyed the film Doc of the Drakes, a second helping of the duo is in the works and will be premiering July 20 at our 7th Annual Fly Fishing Film Fest at Sun Valley Opera House!
