February 23, 2012 (6:30 pm - 9:30 pm)Join Silver Creek Outfitters in the Sun Valley Mall for a pre-event party celebrating the 2012 Fly Fishing Film Tour at the Sun Valley Opera House. Stop by on Thursday, February 23rd at 4 p.m., to enjoy plenty of fish stories and pizza and beer on the house before heading over to the screenings at the adjacent Sun Valley Opera House.
The Fly Fishing Film Tour is the world’s largest event of its kind and features incredible, never-before-seen footage from waterways around the globe. Be part of the festivities, celebrate the sport and receive audience giveaways and valuable coupons at fly-fishing’s most anticipated live-event of the year. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.

- Fly Casting Tournament and Boat Show
May 12, 2012 (All Day)Purpose: A fundraiser for the South Fork Boise River to build on success like the recently completed Pierce Creek reconnection project.
The Event: The fly casting tournament follows a format of a 4-person team, golf tournament (total team score determines outcome). It's such a great time we made a movie trailer about it above! '

Course Design: The course design for 2011 (last year's tournament) is posted here (15 pages, 4.6 MB .pdf). 2011 Rules are posted here. The course design draws from the elements present at the Orvis casting course in Bend, OR.
