The Little Wood River originates in the Pioneer Mountains and flows south, then southwest towards Carey, Richfield and Shoshone.
It is joined by the world-famous Silver Creek along the way. Trout fishing is the lure to this unique desert stream northeast of Richfield. It also boasts the Bear Track Williams area, managed by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game as a trophy trout fishery.
