TaitePearson-Silver Creek Guide -2021

Fly Fishing Guide

The native & natural

Taite Pearson returned to his Idaho roots after spending what he said was “way too much time in the hustle of big cities.” He decided to stay here because the area is good for the soul. Taite’s first memories of fishing were on the South Platte in Colorado when he was 10 years old. That was the first time he ever held a fly rod. His favorite trip as a guide was when he spent the day with a retired couple

whose goal it was to fish all the world’s greatest trout waters. “I took them to Silver Creek and had the rare pleasure of facilitating a passion for the water that matched or exceeded mine,” he explained. “They continue to update me and share their experiences about the water they discover.”

Guiding Style

Combination. Taite wants to put you into fish and make your day a successful one but enjoys sharing his knowledge of the sport.

What folks say about fishing with Taite

Taite has guided me several times a year for 5 years now. When I recently hosted a week in Ketchum for my 16 year olds son’s three best friends and their dads, he assembled an awesome group of guides for us [Pat, Ewald, Carl, Guy, and Kent]. Our group consisted of first timers and more experienced anglers; the SCO guides made sure each person got the instruction and attention they needed to have a great time on the water. Despite the tough fishing conditions due to the drought, Taite and team put together several days of productive, enjoyable fishing on the varied fisheries around Ketchum. The SCO guides always go above and beyond to make sure the guests fishing experience is positive, productive and memorable. I very much appreciate their expertise, flexibility and attention to detail.

There is not a better guide in the west than Taite. He’s a fabulous instructor and can always find the fish no matter the conditions. He’s also super nice and great company.

Mary Lee Copp

Taite is very patient and gives clear guidance of how to understand the fundamentals through advanced and technical fishing skills. How to read the water for great fishy spots to cast, casting and mending skills, and genuine excitement of the whole process. It is clear he loves fishing and enjoys teaching and guiding others.

Tate is the Jedi Master of the creek.

I have fished on the Big Lost below the dam many times but it has always been at the campground or the main street bridge. It was a real treat to fish on a private stretch of waters that I had not been to before.
