Silver Creek Outfitter's recent acquisition of Sawtooth Fishing Guides opens up more than 50 miles of prime drift boat fishing along the Salmon River. Spend the day floating along the Salmon, drifting and casting for wild trout. In a typical day, you can cover 10 - 15 miles of river casting to native Cutthroat and strong Rainbow trout. Journey over the hill (Galena Summit) for the day or stay overnight in Stanley. Guides can accomodate 2 guests - be sure not to miss the June salmon fly hatch!
Even if you didn't catch a fish (and you will), the majesty of the Sawtooth Mountains and the Stanley River Basin would make up for an empty hook
The fall steelhead run was a success, with a large number of steelhead returning to Idaho. We are looking forward to a strong spring (2011) steelhead season. The steelhead winter in the deep water of the lower Salmon River before making their spring migration to the shallow spawning ground of the upper Salmon River. Our new acquisition of Sawtooth Fishing Guides allows us to fish for steelhead from Stanley to to just above Challis. If you have never experienced the excitement of steelhead fishing, this spirng will be your best to chance to get out there and land a big one! Season runs March and April only.
